  Nagaoka Perfumery plans and develops extracts with and extraction procedures are operated in a tightly controlled production environment. This whole process is indispensable for providing high-quality products and responding and adapting to better meet the needs of our customers.



Herbal Extracts

Nagaoka Perfumery Co. manufactures original products through our long-fostered extraction technology and our knowledge of herbs, crude drugs, and spices. Furthermore, we are devoted to developing new products by maximizing the specific characteristics of herbs. Products are developed in a variety of different forms, such as liquids, pastes, and powders. We also manufacture extracts for fragrances (fragrance-distribution group grade) by consistently trying to best serve the needs of our customers using a variety of characteristics and applications.


Beverage Extracts

The market for beverages, including tea and coffee, is expanding every year. Using the latest technology, we develop extracts of high concentration that add excellent flavors to foods.
*Multistage extraction
Flavors are dispersed and deteriorated by heat and under reduced pressure through concentration procedures in conventional processing methods of food flavors. We have developed an original extraction method to effectively extract the solid portion of tea leaves with a low proportion of tea leaves to water. Extracts with fresh flavors are manufactured using this enclosed system, which avoids processing by heat.
In 1999, our tea leaf extract using the multistage extraction method received approval as "organic" by the Institute for Market Ecology, headquartered in Switzerland.
*Filming extraction
Flavors are lost and changed with the conventional concentration method using vaporization. The quality of tea extracts is evaluated mainly by the taste, flavor, and the color of the water, with the best extraction methods those that preserve the excellent flavors exactly as they are extracted. We adopt reverse osmosis filming extraction, which skips the vaporizing process, to prevent loss and browning of the components of flavor and nutrition.


Vanilla Extracts

Vanilla extracts are indispensable for chocolates, cookies, ice creams, and other confectionery items. At Nagaoka Perfumery Co., various types of vanilla extract are available depending on the application. For example, we offer vanilla congenial to cacao for chocolates, vanilla with heat resistance for baked confectionery items including cookies, and for ice creams, we offer vanilla congenial to milk and that emits fragrance at low temperatures.


Tobacco Flavorings

Various plant extracts are used in tobaccos to produce the specific characteristics of each brand. For instance, there are rich, vanilla flavorings used in cigars, the spicy taste of fenugreek, and licorice root used for crude drugs and cough drops. Nagaoka Perfumery Co. creates new tastes by extracting and blending of plants for tobacco materials.

These extracts are processed into various forms and used in a wide range of applications.
* For Confectionery items
For confectionery items with a low water content including candies, while powdered extracts are used for gum and tablets.
*For Beverages
Water-soluble and precipitation resistant types are used for beverages including tea, coffee, functional beverages, blended teas, and herbal teas.
*For Cosmetics
Used for cosmetics formulated with herbs and crude drug extracts, as well as bath & toiletry products.
